Happy New Year!

Every September, I spend some time looking forward to the end of the year. In December, I rest because I want to be ready to take off in January. Now that we are in 2018, I believe that this could be the year for which we’ve been waiting to make significant changes in our lives.

If You Want Change in Your Life, You Must Do Things Differently

Change does not come from living in the past and holding onto what used to be. You have a choice.

If you are content where you are in life, accept that location as your permanent address. However, if you want to experience some changes in your life, you will have to step out of your comfort zone and make a move. It doesn’t have to be a huge leap; it can be a step.

Take the First Step, Regardless of What You Expect the Outcome to Be

As an infant, taking a baby step is okay. However, just like a child, once you decide to take that step, your legs may buckle or stumble. If you go down, rise up, dust yourself off and start over again.

Remember, this is your year. Failure is not a bad thing. Keep getting up.

Don’t stay down for the count. Knock and pound on that door until it opens for you.

See Yourself on the Other Side

The dream of changing your life can’t become a reality until you can see yourself living your vision. Once you have that picture implanted into your mind and heart, you will become focused and hungry enough to reach out and touch the prize. Work until you have your goals within your grasp.

Surround Yourself with People Who Are Where You Want to Be

Some will say that the “grass looks greener on the other side.” Find out by moving into the desired pasture and surrounding yourself with those who reside in that environment.

By observing and modeling “your new life,” you will have the opportunity to see if it is a good fit. Have the boldness to show that the “new place” is where you belong. If you don’t believe it, no one else will.

Leave the Drama, Setbacks and Disappointments in 2017

Time waits for no one. Keep moving and take advantage of what awaits you.

Also, forgive and let go of past hurts. Those negative experiences can be used to build the foundation of your next adventure. Learn from what happened and don’t allow the past to freeze you in the present. Look forward to the future and see yourself in it.

Stay Focused and Base Your Journey on Your Own Goals

We have a society that embraces competition. So many people worry about what others do and try to stop them from getting ahead.

However, when they focus on you and try to live your destiny, they lose focus of their own journey and end up on the wrong path. Stay in your own lane and focus on your vision to manifest your dream. You have your DNA, and it’s unique to you.

Dare to Dream and Don’t Put Yourself in a Box

As you step out, go large, go big and go hard. The sky is the limit, so don’t allow yourself to fall back on “Plan B.”

Stick with the dream that is in your heart. Resist becoming afraid of success and limiting your vision.

This year, I challenge you to slay Goliath. The obstacles that you fear are only as big as you allow them to become in your mind. Kill the self-doubt and silence the negative voices. Are you hungry enough to bring your “A” game to 2018?
