In March 2017, APU Career Services launched Portfolium — an exciting online networking platform that allows our students and alumni to share their work, demonstrate high-value skills, and connect with future employers.
Over 17,000 students, alumni and faculty have joined our online community thus far. Career Services is excited to contribute to the momentum by launching our first university-wide Portfolium Challenge!
What Is a Portfolium Challenge?
A Portfolium Challenge helps to increase your network’s awareness of your high-value skills and gain additional exposure for your hard work. This month’s Challenge allows you to demonstrate your written communication skills by answering the following prompt:
In 350-500 words, tell us how your educational experience as an American Public University System student or alumni has positively influenced or shaped your career.
You could write about a specific project, an inspirational professor, a new connection or any other educational experience that helped prepare you for your career. That’s it! Submitting your short (but thoughtful) Challenge response will put you in the running for some great prizes.
What Are the Challenge Prizes?
Prizes for participating in this month’s Challenge include:
1. University Swag
Nothing sweetens the pot quite like swag! Challenge winners will score free AMU or APU university gear, with the top prize valued at $75. The first five submissions will also be entered to win a special complimentary prize!
2. A Chance to Get Published
The top submissions will be reviewed for potential publication on university blogs such as Online Career Tips or Online Learning Tips. This is a great opportunity to build your professional identity and personal brand, because you can share your published work with your connections on LinkedIn and Portfolium.
The challenge runs from June 1-June 30, 2017. *Submit your response today for your chance to win!
