Dr. Francesca Catalano is the Faculty Director for Science, Space Studies and Environmental Science at APU.

What is currently the biggest challenge to women entering the field of science, technology, engineering and math, also known as STEM? It’s about providing direction in careers, as well as boosting confidence in these technical fields that may be holding women back. The time to harvest these highly sought after technical skills should be cultivated early on. There are numerous options for promoting healthy growth of women in technical fields, but an intervention of sorts is required by STEM educators. In this podcast Dr. Watson-Stone and Dr. Catalano discuss barriers that they have seen as female professionals in these technical career fields.
