What is Klout?

Your Klout Score measures influence based on your ability to drive action. Every time you create content or engage you influence others. Klout Score uses data from social networks in order to measure:

  • True Reach: How many people you influence
  • Amplification: How much you influence them
  • Network Impact: The influence of your network

You may be wondering why I’m telling you all this, why I’m sharing it with you, what it could possibly have to do with your career. Am I right?

Well, go check it out.  Score yourself.  In a word where Social Media and the Internet are king (and queen?), your Klout Score is kinda like your very own grown up report card.  Klout scores you based on a few factors: your reach, influence, number of friends or followers (on Facebook, Twitter, G+, etc).

You don’t have to take my word for it, but it may be worth your time to head over to Klout and have them score you, a high score looks pretty good to employers (especially if you’re entering any sort of online/social career!).
