Chat to Reduce Work Frustration

It’s normal to get frustrated and tense at work. Some take a coffee break and walk around the office, while others blast music to ease the tension. Another great release is through talking. Venting may be a bit much, especially if you’re talking about another co-worker, but chatting about something else can be just as therapeutic.

Take advantage of the friends you have in the office and bend their ear for a few minutes. Instead of sending a hasty email, take a walk to a colleagues desk and ask them about their day or plans for the weekend. You’ll find your stress level slowly decreasing and your mind will be a lot more clear. Dealing with a difficult problem head-on, while in a sour mood can produce some negative results; so don’t let that happen.

If you’re noticing the tension from the other side, let the person know you need a break (if it’s during a meeting). It will give them some time to think, and hopefully the conversation will be more productive.
