Stick to Facts and Leave Aside the TMI for Your Resume

You don’t want to make your resume too top heavy…if your lead-in paragraphs are too long it could be an instant turn-off to the person reading it. Also, you’ll want to avoid “overshare.” Not sure what this is? If you’ve ever had a time when you went into too much detail in the interview, say about your personal life, and the interviewer shifted uncomfortably in their seat then this includes you…don’t give too much information on your resume.

For example, they don’t need to know that your dog just had a birthday, or you vacation frequently where the company (where you’re interviewing) has their annual company outing. Stick to the facts and strip out anything that isn’t relevant to the position you’re applying for.
