Meet in Person to Diffuse an Angry Email

This great advice came from Whitson Gordon over at Lifehacker.com. He suggests arranging to meet someone in person when you receive an angry email from them.

If you text you’ll understand how words and feeling can get misconstrued. The same goes for email correspondence. If you get an angry email from your boss or co-worker, see if you can set up a meeting or drop by their desk for clarification on the topic being discussed. This way you’re removing a third party communicator, and any connotations that were missed in the email can be cleared up all at once.

Don’t let the caps lock get you upset, for all you know they hit it by accident before they pressed send.

[Check your work and check who is in the “to” field before you hit send.]
