Security Considerations for Summer Travel

Interview with Kay Corriere

Even though we’re nearing the end of the summer travel season there are some things to keep in mind. Before setting out on your final vacation of the summer it’s important to utilize situational awareness in your unfamiliar surroundings. Too often we get caught up with the relaxing atmosphere, a welcome reminder that you’re not working, and basic common sense is left at home. Did you think to worry about data security as well as your own physical safety? What can you do to safeguard yourself, family and friends this summer travel season? In this podcast Kay Corriere shares her guidance from the hospitality perspective on how to stay safe while having fun away from home.

About the Speaker

Kay Corriere is a registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). At American Public University she is a full-time faculty member in the hospitality program. Prior to joining the APU, Kay led the team which won the ID Innovator of the Year Award for the LightSource menu program that offered educational training, healthy recipes and menu ideas to chefs across the country. Her experience also includes nutritionally modifying chef developed menus with healthier options.

Kay holds a graduate degree in Institutional Management/Dietetics from the University of Southern Mississippi. Kay is a currently a member of Food and Culinary Professionals and has served as the Chair of Dietitians in Business and Communications, a Practice Group, of the AND.
