Set Aside Time for an “Email Hour” Every Week

Just like breakfast, email is a key component of every morning. Some skip it and wait until it’s absolute necessary, and other can’t get through the first hour of the day without something in their tummy and a full skim of their inbox. So, while email is essentially an everyday necessity in the business world, you need to make time to organize your emails and get back to the ones in the low priority box.

You know the emails I’m referring to…a favor for a friend, that task your boss gave you a couple weeks to finish, dumping out superfluous emails from 2 years ago, or that incessant question on a project you just don’t want to answer. Carve out an hour in your calendar each week to take care of these. It’ll make you more efficient, and it’ll be a nice break from the other tedious tasks and projects you’re currently working on.
