Tip of the Day: Stay Employed By Cutting Out Drama

Today I came across a great article on “16 Ways to Make Yourself Unfireable” on Yahoo! Finance. The author has some great advice on retaining the position you have, and possibly moving up just by using common sense.

One of my favorites is avoiding office drama when you can. For example, your favorite source for gossip stops you while you’re in the middle of a project to tell you something juicy, what should you do? To better manage your time, and your reputation it’s best to ignore it, and tell them you’re busy and maybe you two can talk about it “offline” or after work. This ensures that you don’t hurt their feelings by not indulging them at the moment, and at the same time you’re not straying from the task at hand.
