Use LinkedIn to Make In-Person Connections

It’s all too easy to fall into the online social networking rut.  Don’t get me wrong, online networking is extremely valuable — but not at the cost of making in-person connections and relationships!

Use LinkedIn to find groups and associations of people who share similar interests (tip: use the top right search field, set it to groups and search for any interests or associations you may belong to), join these groups, and keep an eye out for networking receptions, happy hours, or even group meetings… then GO!

Building face-to-face relationships with like-minded people is huge in the world of career networking.  You never know who could hold the key to your next position or promotion!

  1. Better than LinkedIn are tools designed for the very interactions you’re talking about, like Fuseloop (http://fuseloop.com)
