Get Recognized: Modify Your Work Title on LinkedIn

Change your ambiguous job title for greater search recognitionWe’ve stressed on here before how important it is to have a presence on LinkedIn for career purposes. You need to have a great resume, interests, social groups and communities you’re connected to for greater visibility, as swell as recommendations. One thing you need to double check on your LinkedIn resume today is your previous job titles.

Vague titles like “creative coordinator” or “senior manager” don’t give employers a lot of information up front when conducting a search for new applicants. You can modify the title slightly to get into search results. For example, if you’re the go-to for the Adobe Suite at work try modifying your title from web specialist to “Adobe Web Programs Specialist.” A modest change, but to those searching for someone skilled in this extensive program your name will be at the top of the list.
